Lets Make A Movie
Alan, it was great meeting you today, and thank you for taking the time to listen to my story, if you haven’t thrown away that piece of paper I gave you, then we’re already 50% of the way there. 😊
Instead of you reading my story here is a presentation I did after winning an award for the work we are doing to save kids.
Coles Note: My son was diagnosed with a rare disease, so I helped develop a gene therapy for him, raised $4.5 million through GoFundMe, and treated him at SickKids. After seeing what was possible, I decided I couldn’t stop with my son. I started a nonprofit and am now running seven clinical trials across five rare diseases around the world. This year, we expect to give another 50 children a chance at treatment—and hopefully double that number next year.
Why You: As you saw, I’m a big guy like you, maybe a little better looking and more ripped, but you can always diet for the role. 😊 More importantly, you’ve been through hardships, you’d give up your life for your children, and you seem to have that same good-guy attitude I try to live by.
What I want: I’d love for us to write a screenplay together that tells my story, something in the spirit of Lorenzo’s Oil and Extraordinary Measures, but ultimately a story about how far a father will go to save his child, and how saving one child became a mission to save many more.
